Biography

Born in Lódz in Poland, Anna Siminska started her singing studies at the Frédéric Chopin Musik- akademie in Warsaw with Jolanta Janucik, and took following courses at the Kunstuniversität Graz with Joanna Borowska and Gottfried Hornik. She attended master classes with Ryszard Karczykowski, Helena Lazarska and Teresa Zylis-Gara. Among first stage projects of Anna Siminska are Clarice in Haydn's 'Il mondo della luna', Pamina and Königin der Nacht in 'Die Zauberflöte' (National Opera, Warsaw). Anna Siminska made her international debut performing Adele in 'Die Fledermaus' (Schloss- theater Schönbrunn, Wien). Thereupon she sang there Käthe in Ziehrer's 'Drei Wünschen' which production was also recorded and edited by CPO. At the Festival Aix-en-Provence and Oster- festspielen Salzburg (2010) Anna Siminska appeared as Woglinde in 'Götterdämmerung' with The Berliner Philharmoniker, conducted by Sir Simon Rattle. At the Salzburger Festspiele (2009) she took part in the Young Singers Project, including the final concert in the Mozarteum. The same year, she sang Nelly in Zeller's 'Der Obersteiger' (Schloss- theater Schönbrunn) and Flaminia in 'Il mondo della luna' (Brucknerfest Linz). Recent engagements include Adele in 'Die Fledermaus' and Königin der Nacht in 'Die Zauberflöte' (Wiener Staatsoper), the title role in ?'La Sonnambula' (Oper Graz), in 'La Cenerentola' (on tour with the Glyndebourne Festival), Königin der Nacht in 'Die Zauberflöte' (Semperoper Dresden), Taumännchen and Echo in 'Hänsel und Gretel' (Royal Opera House Covent Garden, London). Among Anna Siminska's upcoming engagements are Königin der Nacht in 'Die Zauberflöte' (Staatsoper Berlin and Frankfurt), Giulietta in 'I Capuleti e i Montecchi' (Oper Graz), and Sandrina in 'La finta giardeniera' (Bonn). Anna Siminska sang 'Carmina Burana' (Musikverein Wien, 2010) a concert which has been recorded by the ASC (Arnold Schönberg Chor, Tölzer Knabenchor, Kenneth Tarver, Artur Rucinsky, conducted by Erwin Otner), as well as 'Der Obersteiger' which have been also edited on CD, now by the CPO.
