He is vocal coach and assistant of many opera productions at the Opera-Comique, the Theatre du Chatelet, the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence, Paris Opera, La Monnaie in Brussels, the Amsterdam Opera, Bayerische Staatsoper Munich in collaboration with conductors such as Pierre Boulez, Sylvain Cambreling, Myung Whun Chung, Christoph von Dohnany, Armin Jordan, Kazushi Ono or Simon Rattle.

 

Biography

Stéphane Petitjean,  

Awarded first prize in piano and chamber music from the Conservatoire de Paris, Stéphane Petitjean joined the Ecole d'Art Lyrique of the Paris Opera where he meets Nathalie Stutzman and Natalie Dessay with whom he performed in recital.
He is also vocal coach and assistant of many opera productions at the Opera-Comique, the Theatre du Chatelet, the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence, Paris Opera, La Monnaie in Brussels, the Amsterdam Opera, Bayerische Staatsoper Munich in collaboration with conductors such as Pierre Boulez, Sylvain Cambreling, Myung Whun Chung, Christoph von Dohnany, Armin Jordan, Kazushi Ono or Simon Rattle.
In 1997, he conducted the "Die Fledermaus" by J. Strauss, in the production of Patrice Caurier and Moshe Leiser then "La Belle Helene" at the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence and Salzburg with the Soloists of the Orchestre de Paris with whom he maintains close collaboration.
An ardent defender of light repertoire, he also directed "Phi-Phi" and "La Fille de Madame Angot" at the Opera Theater of Metz at the head of the Orchestre National de Lorraine.
He was chosen by Kent Nagano  as associate conductor on "The Damnation of Faust" and "Falstaff" at the Los Angeles Opera.
Placido Domingo invited him to turn to assist a "Manon" with Anna Netrebko and Rolando Villazon.
He has conducted Peter Eötvös opera ''The Balcony " to the theaters of Besançon and Dijon and Offenbach’s La Périchole with Orchestra of Pays de la Loire and Orchestre de Bretagne.

He made his debut at the München Bayerisches Staatsoper conducting Ravel’s L’Enfant et les sortilèges
